Description

These Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs are a healthier, low-carb alternative to traditional meatballs. With a tender and juicy texture, complemented by a crispy exterior, they are perfect for meal prep, snacks, or a main course. Using an air fryer minimizes oil usage while ensuring even cooking and a golden-brown finish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mixture:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, onion, garlic, smoked paprika, sweet paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
    • Mix gently until the ingredients are just combined. Avoid overmixing to ensure tender meatballs.
  2. Shape the Meatballs:
    • Roll the turkey mixture into evenly sized balls, about 1 inch in diameter. This should yield approximately 20 meatballs.
  3. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  4. Cook the Meatballs:
    • Lightly brush the meatballs with olive oil (optional) and arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if necessary.
    • Air fry for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking, until the meatballs are golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Serve:
    • Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately. Pair with marinara sauce, pasta, rice, or your favorite dipping sauces.
