Bacon French Toast Roll-Ups are the ultimate breakfast indulgence, blending the smoky, savory taste of bacon with the buttery richness of French toast. Perfect for family breakfasts, brunch gatherings, or a quick on-the-go meal, these roll-ups feature a crispy exterior and a soft, flavorful interior. They’re easy to make and sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices fresh soft sandwich bread (white, wholemeal, or wholegrain)
  • 6 slices streaky bacon, rind removed
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk (full cream or low fat)
  • Pinch of salt Optional for Serving: Nachos Cheese Dip or your favorite sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bread:
Remove the crusts from the bread and use a rolling pin to flatten each slice.
  2. Mix the Egg Mixture:
In a shallow dish, whisk together the egg, milk, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Cook the Bacon:
Heat a large pan over high heat and sear the bacon slices on both sides until browned but not crispy.
  4. Assemble the Roll-Ups:
Place one slice of bacon on each flattened bread slice. Roll the bread tightly around the bacon, keeping the seam side down.
  5. Prepare the Pan:
Wipe the pan clean, add the butter, and heat it until melted.
  6. Dip and Cook:
Dip each roll-up in the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated. Gently twist the roll-up to seal the seam. Place the roll-ups in the pan and cook, rotating occasionally, for 3-4 minutes until all sides are golden brown.
  7. Serve:
Enjoy immediately, optionally paired with warmed Nachos Cheese Dip or another favorite sauce.
