  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Add-ins:

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (milk, dark, or semi-sweet)
  • Additional butter or oil for cooking

Instructions

1. Prepare the Batter:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. The batter should remain slightly lumpy for tender pancakes.
  4. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

2. Heat the Pan:

  1. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Lightly coat the pan with butter or oil.

3. Cook the Pancakes:

  1. Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
  2. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges begin to set (approximately 2–3 minutes).
  3. Flip and cook for another 1–2 minutes, until golden brown.
  4. Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more butter or oil as needed.

4. Serve:

  1. Stack pancakes and serve warm with your choice of toppings: maple syrup, whipped cream, fresh berries, or additional chocolate chips.
