  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Crumb Topping:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker:
    • Butter the inside of the slow cooker generously to prevent sticking and create crispy edges.
  2. Make the Custard Mixture:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
  3. Assemble the Casserole:
